Johnny Katt Ellington was born and raised in Arvada Colorado and has been a veteran of the Rocky Mountain music scene since the late 80’s. Johnny has appeared on many recordings, performed, and regionally toured with Filty McNasty and Michelle & the Book of Runes. Katt has provided music for film and television soundtracks playing banjo, guitar, bass, and drums,while also serving as composer, producer, and engineer. As a co-founder of The Legendary Kathouse Pickers, Katt has been the principal engineer and producer for the band since spring of 2016.
Johnny Katt draws on the influence of The Beatles & Rolling Stones, Tom Waits & Lou Reed, as well as Flatt & Scruggs and The Soggy Bottom Boys, and brings to The Legendary Kathouse Pickers a passion for traditional bluegrass combined with rock and roll and pop music.
