Michelle Hagelund was born into a musical family in Kenosha, WI and began performing, with her father, before starting school. Finding influence in the many genres surrounding her in her youth, Michelle developed her talent singing country, R&B, rock, folk, blues, and jazz, as well as honing in her ability to write lyrics, melodies, and harmonies. Michelle has performed, toured and recorded in several music markets in the US with many artists, and has a no-nonsense attitude to the work she involves herself with. After moving to Denver in the early 1990’s, Michelle founded Michelle & The Book Of Runes and cemented her place in the Denver market She has, also, written and sang on recordings for television and film and several releases for other artists.
Michelle is a passionate and charismatic performer, inspired by Etta James, Chris Isack, Prince, and Aretha Franklin. Her ability to engage and captivate an audience is invaluable to the Legendary Kathouse Pickers and she is excited to have her paws in the band.
